Author Guidelines

Please read the the JHMS (Journal of Hospital Management and Service) guidelines and follow these instruction carefully. Manuscrioot that do not follow the instruction will be returned for revision without review. The editor in Chief has the right to return manuscript that are not prepared in accordance with the guidelines provides.

All article submitted to the JHMS.org website, full text must be written in good and correct English.

 

How to prepare a manuscript? [mempersiapkan jurnal]

All manuscript must describe original research that has not been reported or submitted elsewhere. Send original manuscript and soft copies to the JHMS.org website.

 

Manuscript Format [journal format]

  1. The manuscript is written in Times New Roman 11 points 1.5 spaced on A4 paper. The margin on all four sides is 2.5 cm.
  2. The following word processing file formats are acceptable for major text documents: Microsoft Word (DOC, DOCX) with a size of no more than 8MB. The following
  3. The following formats are for image files: Make sure the artwork file is in an acceptable format (TIFF, EPS or MS Office file) and with the correct resolution. Make sure each illustration has a caption. Please provide a separate description, not attached to the picture. The caption should consist of a short title (not on the image itself) and a description of the illustration. Keep the text in the illustration itself to a minimum but explain all symbols and abbreviations used. Multiple numbers can be expressed as a single number (e.g. 1a, 1b, 1c etc.), while maintaining a maximum limit of 6.
  4. The text must be in a two column format. Keep the text layout as simple as possible. Most of the formatting code will be removed and replaced while processing the article.
  5. The page number is located at the bottom.
  6. Figures and Tables are placed in the manuscript (integrated with the whole manuscript).

 

Journal writing must be arranged in the following order:

  1. Title
  2. Abstract
  3. Introduction
  4. Research Materials and Methods
  5. Results and Discussion
  6. Conclusions and Suggestions
  7. Acknowledgments (if any)
  8. Reference

 

  1. Title and Author

The title is an opportunity to grab the reader's attention. Remember that readers are potential writers who will cite your article. Identify the main issue of the journal. Start with an interesting topic. The title must be accurate, unambiguous, specific and informative. It should be written clearly and briefly describing the content of the research. Avoid abbreviations and formulas whenever possible.

Author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s)

A manuscript has the main author and co-authors with the full names of the authors and co-authors (without abbreviations), clearly listing addresses and email addresses. Put an asterisk (*) on the contact person for correspondence.

 

  1. Abstract and Keywords

A concise and factual abstract is required. Each paper should be accompanied by an abstract of about 150-250 words. The abstract should briefly state the research objectives, main results and main conclusions. Abstracts are often presented separately from the article, so they must be able to stand alone. Abstracts should be integrated and self-contained consisting of introduction and objectives, methods, results, conclusions, and suggestions, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if important, they should be defined at the first mention in the abstract itself. Abstract must be written in 150 to 250 words without references and accompanied by keywords.

Keywords: Keywords are the labels of your journal and are important for correcting indexing and searching. Keywords must be no more than 5 words or phrases in alphabetical order that have not been used in the title. Therefore keywords should represent the content and highlights of your article.

 

  1. Introduction

The Introduction section should explain:

  1. Background
  2. Destination
  3. Summary of existing literature
  4. The reasons why research is necessary, and novelty should be explained
  5. When you write your introduction, think of readers who are not experts in this field

The introduction should be written in 750 to 1000 words.

 

  1. Materials and Methods

This section must have the meaning of state of the art science and technology, sophistication of point of view and approach, potential for acquiring novelty, new knowledge, and completeness of the work, not just repeating similar previous research, not mutating methods and objects.

The methods section should include:

  1. Research objectives, design, and setting
  2. Characteristics of participants or material description
  3. Clear description of all processes and methodologies used. Generic names should generally be used. When a proprietary brand is used in research, include the brand name in parentheses
  4. Type of statistical analysis used, including power calculations where appropriate
  5. Studies involving human, data or tissue or animal participants must include a statement of consent and ethical approval

 

  1. Results and Discussion

Results and discussion should be written in the same section. They should be presented continuously starting from the main results to the supporting results and complemented by discussion. This section must demonstrate the critical analysis and synthesis, including a description of the findings of the work that discusses sharply, its relation to previous concepts or theories, critically comparing them with the work of others, and emphasizing or correcting previous findings. The unit of measure used must follow the applicable international system. All figures and tables must be active and editable by the editor. The discussion should explore the significance of the work results. Please highlight any differences between your results or findings and previous publications by other researchers.

 

  1. Conclusion

Conclusions should only answer the research objectives. Conclusions should be clearly explained. Drawing conclusions based on new findings, which are stated accurately and in depth. New findings can be in the form of theories, postulates, formulas, rules, methods, models, and prototypes. Conclusions must be supported by adequate research data.

Suggestions placed after the conclusion contain recommendations for research conducted or input that can be used directly by consumers. Conclusions and suggestions are written in less than 100 words and are written in one paragraph.

 

  1. Acknowledgments (if any)

 

  1. References

References are preferred from Mendeley journals including (direct research results, scientific journals, theses or dissertations) references must be up to date and not too long with the time of publication, avoid too many quotations.

Cite references in the text with the name and year in parentheses, for example:

  1. "It seems that improving fitness can be done with regular exercise at least 2x a week (Arbian, 2017)"
  2. "These results are in line with those obtained by Wahyudi and Montana (2018)"
  3. "Using molasses as a mixture of fermented organic waste can produce good bacteria for fertilizer (Nuansa and Bani, 2018; Thaurer et al., 2018)".

Citation of the reference as 'in press' implies that the item has been accepted for publication. All references mentioned must be written based on references arranged from A to Z.
